School Horses
Our
school horses are the foundation of our riding school. Without them, many
children that have passed through our doors would not have learned their
beginning riding skills in such a relaxed, friendly environment. We have a wide
variety of school horses, from the 13 hh pony up to our 16 hh thoroughbreds.
Each serves a purpose and helps kids learn how to ride and deal with school
horse quirks.

Bunny Hop "Bunny"
Bunny Hop is
the favorite pony of many riders here at Evergreen Equestrian Center.
She is a wonderful beginner pony that helps kids learn all about riding
from their first lesson all the way through teaching them how to canter
with confidence. Bunny used to show all around the local circuit and
was very successful. We are very lucky to have such a great pony here
at Evergreen. |
Top Hat "Derby"
Derby is an
older ex-dressage horse that has been at Evergreen for many years. He
is a great horse that anyone can ride, walk-trotters up through people
learning how to jump. He has a bouncy trot and a rocking horse canter
that many of our riders really enjoy, as well as a cute jump. |

Baroque "Nitro"
Nitro is a
14.3h Arab that came to us through a former instructor many years ago
and in his first few years at the barn when he wasn’t a school horse, he
was jumping up to 3’6”. He can be quite spunky and many people really
enjoy riding him. With his bouncy trot, smooth canter and frisky
personality, Nitro is a great addition to the school horse herd here at
Evergreen and proves to be a challenging, yet rewarding mount for all
who ride him. |
Everclever "Ladd"
Ladd is an
ex-racehorse that in his older years has proven to be a fantastic school
horse. He loves to jump and is the perfect horse for students to ride
over their first jumps. Ladd goes to all of the schooling shows at the
park and almost always brings home the champion ribbon for whatever
division he is in and is a great horse to go to your first show on.
With his steady personality, Ladd is the perfect horse for many of our
riders, children and adults alike. |

Wall Street "Wally"
Wally is
another Arab that we have here and is one of the greatest beginner
horses in the barn. He is another horse that we can call on for any
level of rider, beginner walk-trot all the way through advanced jumping
students. In his earlier years, Wally used to do the 4’ jumpers with a
previous owner. He doesn’t jump that big anymore, but he still loves
his job and is wonderful for all who ride him. |
